Deciding on the most attractive way to decorate your child’s room may be a confusing task, but a kids area rug is likely to be a clear decision.. There are some items to think about: for example wall paper or paint and other decorations. Deciding which theme you want as well as how to pull it off can take a while, but a rug can go in almost any type of theme.
Area rugs are a stylish addition to a child’s room. The perfect rug can add that flair of color needed to offset the glare of a white or plain wall. Area rugs also save on the expense of decorating a room in a theme or character that the child will outgrow. The rug becomes the main focal point.
Wallpaper or paint color can add a fun flair to the room, but remain consistent enough to grow with the child. A princess area rug can be rolled up and replaced with one that has the latest children’s show stars. A funky colorful mosaic rug can be laid out during the teenage years with simple accessories to compliment the child’s style, all the while keeping the basic design and color of the room the same.
Area rugs can be found in a variety of design choices. For boys, rugs that mimic a racetrack or a railroad station provide hours of entertainment while they race their cars, trucks and trains. An imaginary treasure hunt on a rug where X marks the spot or a jungle theme is perfect for an afternoon safari. Girls can take care of their dolls on a dollhouse rug, invite their friends over for a game of hopscotch or play with their stuffed animals at the teddy bear playground.
There are not only unique adventure rugs but also educational ones as well. Rugs with the alphabet, numbers and colors are a wonderful tool for getting a head start on school. For older children, science and geography rugs are entertaining and educational.
Low cut pile or a 100% nylon rug is the best choice for a child’s play room or bedroom. Trains, cars and trucks will easily roll and toys will not get stuck or pull out pieces of the carpet. Easy clean up and stain resistance are also easier with a lower pile rug. Most children’s area rugs have serged edges which is an important feature. A serged edge gives the rug a nice finish and will prevent fraying. Look for a class one fire rating. This rating meets classroom and government guidelines and is a smart choice for the home.
An area rug for a child’s play area is a creative, fun and affordable method to decorate. Area rugs can make for an exciting daily adventure or special learning experience for the child. The low price and durability in comparison to toredoing an entire room through the years is a fantastic benefit for the parent.
You don’t have to completely redecorate your child’s room every year. Mixing small alterations and new kids area rugs once in a while can be all the difference.
